The Public Works Department has approximately 5 employees, which increases in the summer when several students are hired to assist with all the extra work.

Public Works is responsible for the maintenance of all Municipal buildings, water and sewer operations, hockey arena ice making and operation of the arena, vehicle maintenance, mowing of grass, snow removal, roads maintenance and many other duties too numerous to list.

Our Town Superintendent is in charge of this department and is also the Building Inspector which means that all building permits also become his responsibility. With the addition of cottages on Kapkichi Lake, this responsibility has greatly increased.

Without the Public Works Department our community would not be the same, and we owe a lot to them for their hard work!
